When Gretchen came to us last year to discuss her wedding florals, she had one flower on her mind: peonies. Lots and lots of peonies.
Peonies just so happen to be one of our top crops and a personal favorite of ours as well, so having the opportunity to plan and design Gretchen & Pete's June wedding flowers was what farmer-florists like us live for! Gretchen not only was a lot of fun to work with, but she also understood and appreciated the ephemeral quality of flowers and specifically sought us out in order to grow and design seasonal, sustainably-grown flowers for her special day. What a privilege!
Gretchen recently shared photos of her June wedding in Cincinnati with us. Seeing the beautiful images captured by photographer Vivian Strayer literally gave us goosebumps. Check them out:
Gretchen's bouquet featured our peonies, stock, nigella, veronica, itea, baptisia foliage along with some gorgeous giant garden roses.
We designed all the personal flowers for the wedding and also supplied buckets overflowing with pretty pink and white peonies. Gretchen's on-site wedding coordinator grouped the bulk blooms in clear glass vases alongside mercury glass votives for a clean, classic, romantic look at the reception.
We just love all the beautiful details of this elegant event!
